2012 Colorguard Rule Updates
   
There are now minimum scores required for both World and Open Class color guards to advance to finals. Minimum scores have been lowered ten points from last year (Page 9)
   
Classification Review policy has been changed to promote top three SA & IA color guards from world championships plus any color guards in A Classes who have made finals for three consecutive years (Page 7)
   
World Class color guards are now allowed to use music during their setup process (Page 86; Rule 6.4)
   
Definitions of other equipment have been updated to make permanent trial of electrical equipment for World Classes from 2011 (Page 84; Rule 4.8)
   
Performance order for Finals in all classes will be reverse order of scores from semi-finals regardless of rounds or round winners (Page 91)
   
Winner of Elite Events in each class no longer has option to perform last in prelims at world championships.
   
Director of Color Guard has discretion to have independent classes perform before scholastic classes at regionals due to entries, judge rotation, etc.
   
Color guards utilizing students from multiple schools within their district must now provide a letter from district superintendent allowing combining of schools for competition (Page 81; Rule 1.2.3)
